What kind of leader are you?

There are all different kinds of people in the world, and all different kinds of leaders.  Are you the right one for the people you lead?  Discover your primary leadership style by using the quiz below…

…and find out if it’s the best fit for your team.

Be sure to check out all of the other styles at the end of the assessment.  The best leadership style is actually a combination of all of them, so decide what you can take from the styles that weren’t dominant for you and and use this information to help totally empower your team.

(And, by the way, you’ll find that some of the questions in the quiz are repeated more than once.  It’s supposed to be that way, so just keep going. 🙂 )

On to question #1…

I’m not that sure about the quiz results. It might be correct but I don’t feel very good about it, rather than it being wrong. I took a 360 leadership analysis questionnaire that was much more complex back in 2009 or so. It came back and said that for analytical and bookish dependent type stuff I am a very good leader, but that for “command and control” I came out as relatively “demonic” – meaning rather than getting zero, I got a very large negative score. Maybe it is OK that often I worked alone. There have been positions in which I was OK as a leader but those were often nurturing contexts – teaching or leading kids. Maybe it is OK if I am good at pulling people together in a pinch but not that great if I either then “drop the ball” or “turn into a tyrant”. I feel a bit uneasy about the results.
