Why Gifted Adults May Not Have Been Identified During Childhood

One of the characteristics of giftedness is the ability to think in different ways and at a high level. Ways of thinking fall into two basic categories - visual spatial (in images) and auditory sequential (in logical order). The easiest way to understand these concepts are to remember that when we look at a picture (visual) we see the whole thing (spatial), and when we listen to words (auditory) we hear them one after another (sequential).
