This question is a challenge for just about anyone wanting to continue their education past high school.  But when you're gifted the weight of it seems to triple, at least.

Gifted people tend to have interests all over the place, so choosing one thing to study with the thought of foregoing all of the others is really hard.  So what do you do?  There are a couple of articles on the blog that can help you understand how to handle this situation (like ** You don't have permission to see this link. ** so you might want to drop in over there.

In the mean time, how have you decided what field to go into and what kinds of choices did you have to make?

In the beginning at university I studied what I was good at and what I thought I liked.  But I found out when I actually started seeing what the real field would be like for me that it wasn't where I wanted to be in the end.

So after the first semester of the first year I switched into what I ended up studying to completion – psychology – and I love every minute of it.  Even the experiments with training white lab rats! laugh

I must say though that I haven't ever stopped learning and studying one thing or another.  I can list probably 100 topics that I've studied for interest and to keep myself challenged.

So studying for me certainly didn't end with classes in school!
