When times are tough and everything seems to be going someone else's way, what do you do to cope?  What steps do you take to pick yourself back up, brush yourself off, and continue on your way?

Whatever you have as a religious preference doesn't really matter much here.  This is not about convincing others that you're right and they're wrong.

But I'm sure that there are things that we can all do, in our own ways, that help us get through the tough times.  What are yours?

One of the things I find helpful is to connect with some friends, especially gifted and high-achieving ones.  They help me to get going again and give me a boost when I need one most.  Just knowing I can pick up the phone or check my email and find someone who understands and cares makes things much more bearable.
